The initial idea emerged in 2019. The founder as an owner of a social media marketing agency, saw first-hand the decline of user's interest in common advertising, leading him to focus on collaboration with influencers. He worked close enough with them to see their struggle with earning money on traditional social media. Additionally, he witnessed businesses looking for effective and measurable ways to advertise on social media. All three groups (users, influencers and businesses) had the same issue - making money on social media. So, he decided to address this problem with a complex app.

Nocena started
OuKee was a great project, but it lacked a solid business model behind it. While we had always considered integrating crypto as a security measure against hackers, it wasn’t until I started working at a CEX that I realized the true power of building the app entirely on Web3.

With only a working prototype on a completely different chain, we got picked up by our most valuable partner - the Binstarter launchpad. They saw the potential in our idea and offered to step in with more than just eventual fundraising. They helped us redesign the entire app, create a new website and developed a top-tier tokenomics we can keep building on.

SocialFi app
In the world where all the social media are centralized many issues arise. Most concerning is our data privacy and the way big tech uses all their user data to generate profit for themselves while not sharing any of it with their users. SocialFi apps like Nocena are reworking this concept. We are giving back users the control over their own information as all of it is being stored on blockchain.

Over the summer we kept on building momentum that culminated in a triple win at the PL_Genesis hackathon. We got selected as the 2nd best existing code project and won a considerable prize. Along with that we got a prize and support from Flow Blockchain.
